Ballet Company

The purpose of Dance Connection Ballet Company is to serve as a training ground for the young dancer who seeks a pre-professional ballet environment. 

Dance Connection Ballet Company provides superior performance training for these young dancers and cultivates a public awareness and appreciation of ballet.

Dance Connection Ballet Company was established in 2011 as an extension of the Dance Connection Palo Alto School, and its affiliate Dance Connection Performing Company.  The Ballet Company serves as a training ground for upper level students who attend an appropriate number of classes and maintain the required level of skill and proficiency. We provide intensive ballet training, individual coaching, professional performing opportunities, exposure to master classes from guest artists, and opportunities to work with top choreographers.

Each year Classical repertory is selected to show the strengths of our dancers while also facilitating an opportunity for them to build upon their artistic skills and technical excellence.  Dancers have learned and performed multiple variations & pas de deux from Classical ballets including: Paquita, “Pas de Odalisques” from Le Corsaire, Don Quixote Pas de Deux, “Petit Cygnets” from Swan Lake Act II, and La Vivandiere Pas de Six.  In addition to the Classics, dancers also learn contemporary pieces of choreography and are encouraged to explore the limits of their ballet technique.  Guest Choreographers include: Lisa Hess of New York City Ballet, Nicole Haskins of Smuin Ballet, Daniel Marshall of LaDiego Dance Theatre, and Kristen Doolittle of Imagine Ballet.  These opportunities instill self-discipline, teamwork, perseverance, respect, self-confidence, and dedication to excellence.

The quality of our program is reflected in the accomplishments of its dancers; our dancers have been admitted to prestigious summer programs with Alvin Ailey, American Ballet Theatre, Ballet Austin, Boston Ballet, LINES Ballet, The Rock School, and Joffrey Ballet of Chicago.  Dancers have also attended postgraduate programs with Ailey/Fordham BFA Program and Nutmeg Conservatory.  We hope that many of our dancers will become future ballet professionals, choreographers, teachers, costumers, or serve as artistic directors.
